For Immediate Release Miami Lakes, FL -- Shadows And Teeth, published by Darkwater Syndicate, has been on the market for hardly a month but it's already garnering serious press. The book is a collection of ten terrifying tales from an international team of authors as varied as the stories themselves – an executive producer from Los Angeles, California, two authors from the U.K., the "Queen of Croatian Horror," and two exceptionally talented student authors from Monsignor Pace High School, just to name a few. Less than a month after its release, the book was honored as a finalist in the 2016 International Book Awards, in the category of Fiction: Anthologies. |
To put things in perspective, this year there were over 1,500 total contest entries. The small press's anthology competed against books from such major and international publishing houses as Penguin Random House, Tor/Forge, and hundreds more. There was one winner and two co-equal finalists, of which Shadows And Teeth was one. What this means, according to the contest organizers, is this: "By placing in this year’s awards, you have beat out 80% of your fellow entrants." This is a remarkable accomplishent for everyone who helped make this the outstanding book it is. The authors, in order of appearance, are: Antonio Simon, Jr., Trevor Boelter, Mia Bravo, Mark Meier, J.S. Watts, Paige Reiring, Rich Phelan, Viktoria Faust, Brittany Gonzalez, and Darren Worrow. Shadows And Teeth is the first volume in a yearly anthology. This year’s edition features a foreword by Miami-based veteran author, Ramiro Perez de Pereda (Forgotten Spaces, The Many Deaths of Cyan Wraithwate). It is currently available in paperback and ebook (all major formats), on Amazon and at major retailers. An audiobook version is coming soon. |
