Here's another new piano composition by Michael Warriner, inspired by his paranormal horror novel The Man In The Forest. This is the third of several upcoming piano arrangements, composed and performed by the author himself.
"Vincent spun in place and spied a jester in a white and black striped outfit. Its head was made of porcelain and its eyes were solid white, surrounded by thick daubs of black. A glob of solid black greasepaint glistened from its nose, making the face resemble a hollow skull."
"Behind him, in the hallway leading to the front door, he heard a light pattering of footsteps. He looked over his shoulder. The footsteps stopped, but he couldn't see anyone in the doorway. Out of the corner of his eye he detected movement in the hall, but turned in time only to catch a shadow scurry away."
"Vincent didn’t respond. All around him, the forest was buzzing with some unnatural vigor. The sun seemed much too big in the sky, the trees too green, the air too heady with the scent of pine. All around him, it was as though he looked out onto a photograph where the colors had been amplified to unreal levels. A faint sound hung in his ears—a violin melody, a back and forth motion between two intervals."
